The Auburn School District will be closed the rest of the week. I have been advised to reduce the natural gas usage in the buildings just enough so pipes don’t freeze. This is due to the incredible gas price hike and potential penalties that could be incurred this week. This rare phenomenon impacts each community differently depending if their supplier has locked in rates or if they have reserves.
Portions of the buildings are heated with electricity and may not be so cold, so this may not impact extracurricular activities. That call will be announced by your coach, principal or athletic director.
Again, the Auburn School District will be closed Wednesday, Feb 17 – Friday, February 19. These 3 days are “emergency days” that are already built into the school calendar.
