Watch the Trojans on the Internet

August 24, 2014

Last year the high school’s football games were broadcast live over the internet via the National Federation of High School’s Network broadcasting site. A third party did the actual broadcast of the games, and unfortunately, the process ended up not being as clean at the end of the football season as it was at the beginning of the season, with changing fees and delayed broadcasts.
This year, the high school, with the help of several community members, has decided to take over the broadcast of not just the football games, but most fall and winter sporting events. Every home football, volleyball, girls’ basketball, boys’ basketball, and wrestling competition will be broadcast through the same website as above.
Not every competition will be able to be broadcast live due to internet access restrictions at some away events, but every home competition will be broadcast live for you to watch on any device that can connect to the internet. We hope to be able to have any contest, or highlights from the contest, that is not broadcast live to be uploaded and available to watch within 24 hours of the event.
There will be a fee associated with being able to watch the broadcasts, but unlike last year, fees will not change throughout the year – that means all post season (football playoffs/regionals/sectionals/state competitions) will not cost extra. The fee for an entire year’s access will cost only $59.95 - CLICK HERE TO SUBSCRIBE NOW. All subscriptions and customer support will flow through this website.
In addition to having access to Trojan athletic events, that yearly subscription price will allow you to access any other high school in the whole United States that broadcasts their games using the NFHS Network – over 1,000 high schools. Conference rival Williamsville is also part of this network, and many other high school in and out of the Springfield area are utilizing this service this year. If you like to watch high school sports, this is a great way to get access to a lot of games.
There will still be the option to purchase a daily subscription for $9.95 and a monthly subscription for $14.95 if you are interested in watching just a few games or competitions.
We are hoping to include the community as much as possible in the broadcasts, and as we become more familiar with the process, there will be opportunities for community members or businesses within the community to add messages, graphics, and advertisements to the broadcasts. If this is something you are interested in being informed about when the opportunity presents itself, please contact the high school principal, Nathan Essex, in the high school office at 438-6817.
