2020 Graduation

June 19, 2020

Graduates and Parents,

With our July 10th graduation date just weeks away, the Auburn School District wanted to have two different options to ensure we are able to hold graduation on that date no matter the restrictions we are under. As long as the State of Illinois does not move our region back to Phase 2, we will be able to enjoy PLAN A listed below. If the State of Illinois moves our region back to Phase 2 we will be following PLAN B below.

The school district will make the official announcement of PLAN A or PLAN B on Friday July 3rd. If we are in the unfortunate position of having to utilize PLAN B, students’ time slots will be assigned and shared with graduates and parents on Monday, July 6th.

If you have any questions regarding the graduation ceremony, please call the high school office or email Mr. Essex at nessex@auburn.k12.il.us.

PLAN A

  • Graduation Ceremony Starts at 7 PM at the football field.
  • Students will be able to have immediate family attend sitting in the home side bleachers. Please respect social distancing guidelines.
  • The ceremony will proceed with a traditional program of recognitions and a length of approximately 75 minutes.
  • A professional photographer will be onsite to take traditional graduation pictures.
  • Programs will not be available on site to immediate family, but will be posted online before the ceremony to be able to be downloaded and printed.

PLAN B

  • Students and immediate family will be assigned time slots throughout the day to receive their diploma.
  • There will be a separate smaller tent for checkin, then graduate and family will move from the check-in tent to the main tent with stage to receive their diploma.
  • A professional photographer will be onsite to take pictures of each graduate.
  • Each time slot will be approximately 10 minutes in length.
