2021 Scheduling Update and Behind the Wheel Information
June 01, 2020
Now that the 2019-20 school year has officially come to an end in regards to student attendance, I wanted to share where we are in regards to scheduling classes for the 2020-21 school year and pass along information about Chromebooks and Behind the Wheel.
We have not started the scheduling process because we want to make sure we are only going through the scheduling process once. As all of you have experienced in some form or fashion over the past two-plus months, we are working with evolving information and moving targets every day. There are too many variables to be able to accommodate them all in one prospective master schedule. I am hoping we will receive a definitive direction by the end of June from the Illinois State Board of Education and can decide how to proceed with scheduling at that time. The actual scheduling process itself will not take a long time and can be completed in a matter of 3-4 days if need be. This isn't something to worry or be anxious about.
All high school students who have a Chromebook will keep them over the summer. Please take care of them and keep them in working condition. If something would happen and a Chromebook would need to be repaired please contact Mr. Essex (nessex@aubun.k12.il.us) and Mr. Scheuermann (Dave@auburn.k12.il.us) to set up a drop off time to get your device repaired.
Behind the Wheel is still suspended and we have had no indication on when we will be able to start driving with students again. Once we are able, our Drivers Ed teachers will contact the students via their school email and Google Classroom to communicate the scheduling process and when those driving times will be.
Please check back for updates as we progress through the next few weeks of summer.
