COVID 19 School Information
To my English IV seniors and parents,
Due to the mandated shutdown of all Illinois schools, we are forced to operate through an online platform. In our case, this will be through Google Classroom. After the conclusion of Macbeth, it was (and still is) my intention to begin a new unit over sonnets and pastoral poetry. For the students who would like to continue their education and remain engaged in academics, I will be posting a document with lessons plans that will take you through this particular unit. In addition to this, I will post a poetry PowerPoint, copies of the poems to annotate, and worksheets that can be completed. It is important to note that at this time, it is not required that any of this work be completed for a grade, due to the fact that not all students have unfettered access to the internet. Doing so would be a direct violation of the Free and Appropriate Public Education Act.
Please bear in mind that this is an unprecedented situation, so I encourage you all to give our administrators, teachers, and fellow students some grace during this time. We are all working together in this, so please be patient for any changes that are made during this process. If you have any questions, please send me an e-mail. I intend to log on and check it daily.
