I grew up on a farm outside of Auburn and graduated from Auburn High School. I earned a Bachelors of Science from Eastern Illinois University and a Masters of Social Work from the University of Illinois in Champaign-Urbana, with an emphasis on School Social Work. I am married, and have a daughter and a son. Having lived and worked in the Chicago suburbs, it is wonderful to be "back home" and raising my family in the schools I attended.
I have always loved working with children and adolescents. In order for students to be successful academically, they may need assistance socially or emotionally. Providing individual and group counseling gives me a sense of accomplishment as I help my students become successful not only in the classroom, but in the community as well. I love having the opportunity to work with students at the elementary level and then watch them excel through their high school years.
