2016-17 Registration and Freshmen Orientation

July 18, 2016

Auburn and Divernon students will be back in school before you know it. Wednesday August 17 will begin the 2016-17 school year with students attending until 2 p.m. on that day.
Online registration opened on July 25th, and will run through August 10th for all students in the district. The school district encourages all parents to use the Skyward Parent Access to register their students online from home. When registering online, parents can take advantage of updating student and guardian information, paying registration and lunch fees, seeing their child’s teacher assignment or schedule, and to sign off on numerous forms now available online. All Elementary and Middle school supply lists are updated on the school and district website.
If a parent needs to setup, or reset their password, to their Skyward Parent Access Account please call your child’s school office or email your child’s respective principal with a request. If you call, please leave the email address you would like to be associated with your Skyward Parent Access Account.
For parents who wish to register in person, all students entering Kindergarten, first, and second grade who live in Auburn or Divernon will register at Auburn Elementary School. All students entering grades three, four, and five should register at the Auburn Middle School. Students entering grades six, seven and eight will register at Auburn Junior High School located in Divernon. All students attending high school should register in the cafeteria at Auburn High School, entering through the east doors of the high school.
Registration in the buildings will take place on August 3rd and 4th. Auburn Elementary School, Auburn Middle School, and Auburn Jr. High at Divernon will have computers setup for use from 8 am – 3 pm for registration purposes. Auburn High School will have access to computers in the high school office from 1 pm – 8 pm on Wednesday August 3rd and 8 am – 3 pm on Thursday August 4th.
Also, on August 3rd from 8 pm – 9 pm there will be a freshmen orientation meeting for all freshmen students and parents in the high school cafeteria. This will give both students and parents a chance to learn about expectations for high school students, as well as an opportunity to ask administration, faculty, and current students’ questions regarding what to look forward to in high school.
All students entering kindergarten, sixth grade and ninth grade, as well as all students new to Auburn schools, must bring to registration a completed physical form, or evidence (doctor appointment card) that a physical exam is scheduled with a doctor prior to October 15. All students in kindergarten, second, and sixth grades must have a dental exam or an appointment card showing that a dental exam is scheduled by May 2017.
In compliance with state law, all students entering elementary school for the first time must present a copy of their certified birth certificate (not the hospital record of birth). All high school students new to the district must bring a copy of their academic records from their previous attendance center. A social security number and copy of a birth certificate will also be necessary to register. All families new to the district should bring with them some proof of district residency, such as a utility bill or other identification.
