Accounting
Accounting serves people in business and in their personal lives, and helps them understand business in their careers as well as in their personal lives.
Managers and owners use accounting information as the basis for making business decisions. Accurate accounting records contribute to a business’ success and help to avoid failure and bankruptcy. Failure to understand accounting information can result in poor business decisions. Training in accounting helps managers and owners make better business decisions.
This class and text will provide you with 3 career objectives:
1. Accounting knowledge and skill needed for beginning accounting careers.
2. Accounting knowledge and skill needed for careers in related business fields.
3. Accounting knowledge and skill to serve as a foundation on which to continue the study of accounting at the college level.
Accounting I provides you with the skills needed to keep accounting records for businesses such as financial statements and payroll. A simulation packet will be completed during 4th quarter. A textbook, workbook and handouts will be used to complete the coursework.
